1 1/2 pounds flank steak or sirloin thinly sliced against the grain
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
4 cloves garlic minced
1 teaspoon rice vinegar or lime juice
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
3 cups cooked jasmine rice
2 cups steamed broccoli
1 cup shredded carrots
2 green onions sliced
1 teaspoon sesame seeds optional
Whisk honey soy sauce garlic and rice vinegar in a bowl.
Mix cornstarch with water in a separate bowl to form a slurry.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium high heat.
Sear beef in a single layer for 2 to 3 minutes per side until browned then remove from pan.
Reduce heat to medium and pour honey garlic mixture into the skillet.
Simmer for 1 to 2 minutes then stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.
Return beef to the skillet and toss to coat for 1 to 2 minutes.
Divide rice among bowls and top with beef and sauce.
Add broccoli carrots green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
