A rich and savory skillet dish made with browned Italian sausage and a garlic-infused Parmesan cream sauce. Perfect over pasta, potatoes, or low-carb sides.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage (sweet or spicy)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup white wine or chicken broth (optional)

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Optional: 1 cup baby spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, chili flakes

Instructions

  • Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Break into crumbles and cook until fully browned. Remove and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, sauté onion for 3–4 minutes. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds more.

  • Deglaze with wine or broth, scraping the pan. Simmer for 1–2 minutes.

  • Lower heat, add cream. Simmer 3–5 minutes, then stir in Parmesan.

  • Return sausage to skillet. Simmer 2–3 more minutes to combine.

  • Add optional extras (spinach, tomatoes) and stir until wilted.

  • Serve hot with pasta, potatoes, or vegetables.

Notes

  • Use turkey sausage for a leaner version.

  • Add pasta water to thin the sauce and improve cling.

  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
