2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup light brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 egg yolk
1½ tsp vanilla extract
Zest of 1 large orange
1 tbsp fresh orange juice (optional)
1 cup dried cranberries
½ cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
Add egg, yolk, vanilla, orange zest, and juice. Mix well.
Whisk dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Gradually add to wet.
Fold in dried cranberries and optional add-ins.
Scoop dough onto parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are set and centers soft.
Cool on tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
Dough can be frozen up to 2 months.
Add chopped nuts for crunch.
Store in airtight container up to 5 days.
For extra citrus flavor, double the zest.
