A comforting one-skillet meal featuring seasoned beef, crispy fries, and melted cheese—finished with classic burger toppings for a fun, satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
1/2 yellow onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard
16 oz frozen French fries
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup sliced dill pickles (optional)
Optional: diced tomato, shredded lettuce, bacon crumbles, burger sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.

  • In an oven-safe skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat (6–8 minutes). Drain any fat.

  • Add onion and cook for 3 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.

  • Mix in ketchup and mustard, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 2 minutes.

  • Spread frozen fries evenly over the beef mixture. Do not stir.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until fries are crispy and golden.

  • Sprinkle shredded cheese over fries and return to oven for 5–7 minutes, or until melted.

  • Let sit for 5 minutes. Add pickles and any other desired toppings before serving.
