1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
1/2 yellow onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard
16 oz frozen French fries
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup sliced dill pickles (optional)
Optional: diced tomato, shredded lettuce, bacon crumbles, burger sauce
Preheat oven to 425°F.
In an oven-safe skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat (6–8 minutes). Drain any fat.
Add onion and cook for 3 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
Mix in ketchup and mustard, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 2 minutes.
Spread frozen fries evenly over the beef mixture. Do not stir.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until fries are crispy and golden.
Sprinkle shredded cheese over fries and return to oven for 5–7 minutes, or until melted.
Let sit for 5 minutes. Add pickles and any other desired toppings before serving.
