1½ lbs ground beef (80/20)
1 small yellow onion, diced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1 cup Thousand Island dressing
¾ cup chopped dill pickles, divided
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned. Drain grease.
Stir in garlic powder, salt, pepper, Thousand Island dressing, and half the pickles. Cook 2–3 minutes.
Spread beef mixture in baking dish. Top with 1½ cups cheddar cheese.
Arrange tater tots in a single layer across the top.
Bake for 35–40 minutes until tots are golden and cheese is bubbling.
Top with remaining pickles, drizzle dressing, sprinkle remaining cheese, and sesame seeds. Bake 5 more minutes.
Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
