These waffle donuts combine the cozy flavors of spiced apples and vanilla glaze in a fun, handheld treat. No frying, no fuss — just warm, golden bites of apple fritter goodness made in a waffle maker.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples, peeled and diced

  • 1 tbsp butter (for sautéing apples)

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (for apples)

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • Pinch of nutmeg

  • 2 eggs

  • ⅓ cup white sugar

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • ¾ cup milk

  • ¼ cup melted butter

  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract

Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 12 tbsp milk

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Cook diced apples in butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until tender. Let cool.

  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  • In another bowl, whisk eggs, both sugars, milk, butter, and vanilla.

  • Stir wet into dry, then fold in cooked apples.

  • Heat and grease waffle iron. Cook batter for 3–5 minutes or until golden.

  • Cool slightly on a rack.

  • Mix glaze ingredients until smooth. Dip or drizzle onto donuts.

  • Let glaze set before serving.
